PBL Resources
Project-Based Learning (PBL) is often seen as a teaching model used in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). However, PBL can be used for any classroom subject. PBL is about creating a learning environment where students are responsible for their own learning. Students acquire content through collaborative activities with their peers. Well planned and organized lessons are the key to a successful PBL classroom. Because many PBL lessons do have a STEM focus you will find that many of them address both science and math standards. Most of these PBLs also have language arts aspects to them. You often times can find the Common Core ELA standards that match up with each lesson. There are some resources that are specific to a particular subject, such as realworldmath.org. However, BIE.org is a website created by Buck Institute for Education. BIE is the leading database for PBL activities. Here you can choose the specific subject, grade level, and courses you are looking for. Again, many incorporate many subjects into one PBL. Below you can find resources for PBL activities.
